Maayan Danoch (DE/IL) is currently in residence at ZAIK (Zentrum für Austausch und Innovation Köln). She is developing her new piece mirrors and windows, which will premiere on September 27 and 28 in the context of MADE IN KÖLN at the Orangerie.
mirrors and windows is a dance work inspired by photography and animation techniques, through which it explores ways of illuminating temporal relationships in live performance.
Inspired by photography and animation techniques, Maayan Danoch in collaboration with Anja Bornsek and Sussane Grau explore the capacity of still/moving body image to point towards possible ‘before’s and ‘after’s. In this choreographic work, movement is either imagined through the (non-)consequentiality of body positions or functions as a time compressing element, allowing the performers to teleport into or out from bodies and places. The 3 performers unfold, split and rejoins a singular continuous trace, become a moving landscape and illuminate details of the multiple temporal relationships an image proposes.
